Altoona Elementary Schools
Cooperating Teacher: Teri Myers
During my elementary general placement I traveled between four elementary schools within the Altoona School District. These schools were Baker Elementary, Ebner Elementary, McAuliffe Heights Elementary, and Juniata Gap Elementary. At each elementary school I was able to teach general music classes to students in grades K-6. Below are videos from my teaching experience. Also during this experience I was able to focus on a students musical and non-musical achievement through a case study you can read that by clicking the link below.

The video is a 4th grade class singing through the Pennsylvania state song. I divided the song in half, first half the girls sang, second half the boys sang. This video was a part of my UNIT PLAN for 4th Grade. For more information on my 4th grade Composition Unit Plan click HERE
The above video is one of the third grade classes at Ebner Elementary. My co-op planned an Earth Day Play for third grade since she teaches every class at this school for every grade, except Kindergarten. The play consisted of songs that went along with the dialogue. Several songs featured Orff Ensemble parts. Each third grade class was assigned an Orff piece to play. This class was assigned a piece about the rainforest. The piece was supposed to resemble the cacophony of sounds created within the deep of the rainforest. The students worked hard and only had the 30 minutes of class time once a week to learn all of their songs and Orff/Recorder parts. They did such a fantastic job, ENJOY!
