In Spring 2010 I was enrolled in Music 295A which is the Early Childhood Music Education course at Penn State. Through this class I have developed a deep love for early-childhood music education and a better understanding of music education in general. This class consisted of strategies, approaches, and real lesson plans to be used in an early childhood music setting. We were given peer teaching experiences where we wrote a task analysis and also a reflection. Two of those Peer Teachings are featured below.
Bennett Center
Along with peer teaching in 295A I had the great experience of attending the Bennett Center every Friday where I was able to observe and teach children musical activities at the daycare on campus. This was such a great experience for learning more about children and also providing a smooth transition as we learn more about the ways of teaching. Each person was given a Bennett Center buddy to observe and monitor their activity in regards to Gordon's Stages of Preparatory Audiation. Below is the link to my case study of my Bennett Center Buddy, Edward.
