Elementary General and Choral Music Capstone Experience
This final semester on campus I was enrolled in Music 441W: Elementary General and Choral Music Capstone. This course was led by Dr. Joanne Rutkowski and focused on the selection and application of materials, methods, teaching and assessment strategies for elementary general and choral music settings. I had the wonderful experience of teaching a 4th grade class every week at Mount Nittany Elementary School taught by Mrs. Lisa Bevan. It was the best teaching experience I had so far and I was able to learn so much about myself as a teacher, musician, and person!

During the capstone I created a Listening Unit for the Trepak Dance from The Nutcracker composed by Pytor Illyich Tchaicovsky. I used this piece of Music to Introduce, Teach, and Assess the students knowledge on ABA Form. Below is my weekly plan, assessment tool, and also a video segment of me teaching.
